Innovations in version 1.14.0
With version 1.14.0, users have access to several innovations in the area of variable data, print statistics, grid charts and print data corrections. In addition, improvements have been made in the area of variable data and the assembly editor.
VDP Editor Functions
Layers - variable elements can be created on different layers as well as shown and hidden.
Transform - objects can be moved vertically and horizontally by holding the SHIFT key.
Shortcuts - there are shortcuts for the tools as well as for copy, paste and reset.
Align - variable elements can be aligned to each other
General - some improvements have been made to existing functions
VDP Editor - Export and Import
VDP settings of a motif or article can be exported from the workflow and also imported back into the workflow.
Grid chart of tone values
The possibility to create or print a grid chart of a selected spot colour with 1% graded tonal values was added. Afterwards, the motif can be optimised with the correction "Change tone value of a spot colour" before output and thus save ink.
Grid Chart overprinting spot colors
A grid chart of two overprinting spot colours can be generated and printed. This allows the visual appearance of overprinting spot colours to be checked.
Check-In Templates
As of this version, check-in templates are provided for system-wide settings, quick printing and hot folders. Checks and corrections can be used for the check-in profiles.
Contour Nesting for Hotfolder
If the assembly mode "Nesting" is selected, an assembly template with contour nesting can be selected. The technical spot colour to be used for contour nesting can also be selected. If the assembly mode "Nesting" is selected, an assembly template with contour nesting can be selected. The technical spot colour to be used for contour nesting can also be selected.
Contour Nesting for XML Hotfolder
Contour nesting can be specified and configured directly via the XML control file for a production job.
Online release portal and release reports
As of this version, release reports and project names can be named automatically based on a defined naming scheme. In addition, filtering and sorting options have been implemented in the online release portal.

Print statistics
Statistics or information from production orders are transferred to the workflow via Durst Analytics. The transmitted information is displayed in the workflow per production order. In order to display print statistics in the workflow, some technical requirements, such as a workflow analytics connection, must be met.
Fotoba – XLA-170
The cutter of the XLA 170 series from Fotoba can be controlled with this version. The selection of the cutter determines the default setting of marks.
PDF cut data
Another cutter - PDF Cutter - is integrated in the workflow, which allows to create a PDF cutting file. This PDF cutting file can be used for various cutting devices that support PDF files. Which layers, colours and marks are to be created in the PDF can be determined by mapping spot colours.
Cutting Tool »OptiScout Prepare«
From this version onwards, the cutting tools can be configured in an extended way and the materials can be imported from OptiScout Prepare into the workflow. The materials can then subsequently be used for production orders. Advanced settings are available for cutting tools.
Improvements
"Variable data" - warnings and errors
Warnings and errors contained in the VDP are also displayed in the "Variable Data" tab from this version onwards, so that they are also clearly visible outside the VDP editor....
Clear VDP settings
Zünd CutCenter materials
Tiling – Memory extension
When a tiling is saved - as a multi-page document in a production order or individual articles - an automatic data correction runs in the background. This correction removes all elements that are outside the media frame and serves for a correct generation of cutting data.
Splitting multi-page designs
Lasercomb cutting device
Delete routine
Assembly overview - for multi-page motifs
From this version on, the results of the nesting optimisation are displayed per assembly side.
